Build a glossary with a student

A glossary is a shared vocabulary bank: you and the student both read it, both add to it, and it grows lesson by lesson.

Where glossaries live

Open Glossaries from the navigation. Each glossary can be personal, or shared with exactly one student — sharing it puts the same word list in both of your apps. Every student relationship also grows an automatic Lesson vocabulary bank the moment words are banked from a class, named after the student so four students never look like four copies of the same list.

Bank words from a lesson

1. In a class's notes, add a Glossary block and pick (or create) the glossary.
2. Select words in the notes and bank them — each lands in the glossary as a word only.
3. The student writes the definition themselves.

That last step is deliberate: writing the meaning is active recall, and a definition the learner wrote sticks better than one an AI pasted in. If you do want AI help, AI fill exists as an explicit action on the glossary — it never runs on its own.

Working with the list

• Terms carry a definition, usage example, related terms and categories.
• The Cards tab quizzes the words; each person's know / still-learning standing is private to them.
• Re-banking a word a student already has bumps how often it has appeared and leaves their definition untouched.
